What is the act of Baptism and why would anyone commit themselves to the act? Baptism or water blessings is a very old tradition which has roots in many religions which incorporates water for the act of purification. What significance does the act of Baptism confer? Baptism is a deliberate act when a soul is asking directly of God to please wash me clean. Baptism in itself is an act of humility and supplication identifying that we have sinned and want to be renewed according to Gods will. Baptism is typically acknowledged as the first step in becoming a Christian which signifies a persons acknowledgement or faith that Jesus is the Son of God and he came to bring salvation to all of humanity. To identify with its roots in the bible we will find that John the Baptist offered this blessing to all seeking the Kingdom of God at the River Jordan as an act of purification, spiritual blessings and atonement for sins. This process as offered by him was likely different in comparison to today as what most experience as he was a Christed being himself. The blessings that John transmitted would likely not just have signified simple intentions but offered tremendous healing benefit to the body, mind and spirit in actuality washing away sins or karma. These type of blessings are treasures which would be stored in Heaven for eternity and likely shifted many lives and souls into new possibilities. John the Baptist was identified by Jesus to be the one and same soul of Elijah from the Old Testament and the greatest man born of woman. The act of Baptism conferred unto Jesus by John was the moment when the role of Jesus was made matter of fact by God himself. Jesus and John were cousins and both came to Earth to see that Gods will would be done on Earth as it is in Heaven. It is recognized that John washed with water while Jesus washed with the fire of the Holy Spirit, which is the sacred OM vibration. If you haven’t been baptized I urge you to seek this opportunity in earnest as your intentions and love of God and the Christ will be heard in lofty places.
